Anaphylaxis Explained

People who suffer from allergies are usually familiar with the term “anaphylaxis”. It is a term that brings fear and dread to the allergy sufferer. Allergy sufferers work diligently to ensure that they do not become the next victim to anaphylaxis. Anaphylaxis is the worst possible case scenario when it comes to an allergic reaction. It is a very quick and possibly life threatening condition that occurs when a person has a severe allergic reaction.

The body of a person experiencing anaphylaxis may experience a variety of symptoms and issues when the issue occurs. Many areas of the body may suffer when a person experiences anaphylaxis. People who experience anaphylaxis may do it immediately after coming in contact with the allergen, or it may occur up to five hours later. The person who experiences anaphylaxis may have a mild case of the condition, or they may experience a severe case in which their life may be jeopardized.

Many people stand a higher risk of developing anaphylaxis. Some of the people that may be included in the high-risk group may include young children, people who experience bouts of asthma, patients who have eczema, and people who are prone to hay fever. People who have issues with their immune system are also at risk for developing anaphylaxis. Each year, millions of people experience anaphylaxis. Many people lose their life because of anaphylaxis. However, if treatment for this condition is administered soon enough, the person is likely to experience a full recovery.

Anaphylaxis can be induced by a variety of causes. Many people who have allergies to food will experience anaphylaxis. Certain people who experience allergic reactions to medications may experience anaphylaxis. These reactions may result from over-the-counter medications and prescription medications. People who are allergic to certain types of insect bites may experience anaphylaxis. People who have sensitivities to certain kinds of pesticides and other chemicals may experience anaphylaxis. People who experience allergies related to latex may also experience anaphylaxis.

The symptoms of persons experiencing anaphylaxis vary. The symptoms of anaphylaxis depend on the severity of the reaction and what the person is reacting to. Many people may experience vomiting and nausea. This may be severe or mild, depending on the severity of the reaction. There are some people who will experience skin conditions, such as a rash and hives. People may also experience the following symptoms:

* The body may suddenly feel warm all over * A person may experience swelling in the throat, as well as in the mouth. *A person may experience funny tastes, such as metal. * Cramping throughout the body may be common in people who are experiencing anaphylaxis. * With anaphylaxis, many people have difficulty breathing and experience a draining of the sinuses.

If you experience any of the previous symptoms and feel as if you may be experiencing an allergic reaction or anaphylaxis, it is important that you get to a doctor immediately. The sooner you receive medical care, the better off your chances are for recovering quickly.
